Why we are building mobile apps now
Over the last few months, we kept hearing the same honest feedback from members: "I like using Helfi, but I need it to be easier when I am not at my desk." That one line shaped this entire decision. People are logging meals in parking lots, checking hydration at work, and trying to keep routines on busy family days. A phone-first experience makes that much easier.
The web app is still an important part of our platform, especially for deeper weekly review. But for daily actions, mobile simply wins. It is faster, more natural, and always available when you need it. So instead of forcing one format for everyone, we are building what actually fits real life: full iOS and Android apps that work as smoothly as your day-to-day routine.
What will feel different on mobile
Our goal is not to create a flashy app that looks good in screenshots and slows down in real use. The goal is practical speed. We are designing fast flows so common actions are just a few taps: log food, add water, review your key trend, and move on. You should not need ten steps to do something simple.
We are also paying close attention to clarity. Mobile screens are small, so every screen has to earn its place. That means cleaner layouts, fewer confusing menus, and better prompts that explain what to do next in plain language. The result we are aiming for is calm and useful, not crowded or overwhelming.
Apple Health support for iPhone users
For iPhone users, Apple Health support is a big part of the upcoming experience. People already collect useful activity and health signals there, and we want Helfi to make that data easier to understand. Instead of opening multiple apps and mentally stitching everything together, we are building one place where that information can be viewed in context.
The real value is not just seeing numbers. It is seeing what those numbers mean when combined with your food, hydration, and routines. A step count by itself can be easy to ignore. But when it sits next to sleep trend changes and meal timing, patterns become easier to spot. That is where better decisions usually come from.
- Connect iPhone health data into your Helfi trend view
- Review activity in context with nutrition and routine data
- Turn raw numbers into clearer, practical takeaways
Google health data support on Android
On Android, we are building around Google health data through Health Connect support. Android users deserve the same quality of experience as iPhone users, and we are treating that as a core priority, not an afterthought. The same principles apply: simple setup, clean views, and useful summaries.
We know Android devices vary a lot, so reliability matters even more. We are testing to make sure syncing feels stable and understandable. If something is not connected, the app should tell you clearly. If data is available, it should appear where you expect it. Clear behavior builds trust, and trust is everything in a health product.
Sleep coach is in active development
Many members asked us for better support around sleep because sleep affects almost everything else: appetite, cravings, mood, training energy, and recovery. That is why we are building a dedicated sleep coach experience, not just a single sleep score screen. The aim is to help you understand your direction over time, not make you stress over one bad night.
The sleep coach will focus on practical pattern spotting. For example, if your routine slips on late nights after certain habits, that should be easy to see. If a simple bedtime change starts helping your trend, that should also be clear. We want this to feel like useful guidance from someone who knows your weekly data, not random generic advice.
Privacy and control still come first
Anytime health data is involved, privacy is not optional. We are keeping the same principle on mobile that we use everywhere else: collect only what is needed, make controls clear, and avoid confusing permission behavior. You should always understand what is connected and why.
As we move closer to release, we will publish clearer setup notes inside the app and in our support pages so people can make informed choices. Good privacy is not only about rules behind the scenes. It is also about clear language, clear toggles, and no surprises.
Release plan and what comes next
We will roll this out in stages. First, we will share previews and focused updates in News. Then we will open phased access so we can test performance and make quick improvements. This gives us room to listen and fix details before full scale rollout, which usually creates a better product for everyone.
In short, this is not just a design project. It is a practical upgrade for people trying to stay consistent with their health. We are building the mobile apps to help daily tracking feel easier, smarter, and more sustainable. Thank you for all the feedback that got us here, and please keep it coming.
